Borussia Monchengladbach

Borussia Monchengladbach looked like they were frontrunners to take the Bundesliga for a while. Then Schalke beat them and it was all downhill from there. But it doesn’t diminish the amount of talent—most of it young—that they have on this club.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Of course, a lot of their potency comes from an incredible attacking core, mostly on the wings, and none of that benefits Arsenal too much, so I’m turning my attention to another guy who has been linked with a move to the Emirates before—Denis Zakaria.

The Swiss midfielder has paired with Granit Xhaka on the international level and he’s the exact type of midfielder we’re hoping to get in Thomas Partey. But should Partey not work out, Zakaria could and should be the next guy in line.

He’s a regular wrecker. He’s fearless in his defending and while that gets him in trouble at times, it got Gilberto Silva in trouble at times too, and I don’t hear many people complaining about him.

Next up, Eintracht Frankfurt.
