Arsenal: 3 reasons for and against signing Dani Ceballos

1, For: We’ve seen what he can do
No matter what you have to say about Dani Ceballos and his not being reliable, not proving enough, whatever… you still have to admit that we have seen a lot of what we need in a midfielder, even if it has been in small doses.
He has had some pretty incredible performances, obviously, Burnley ranking at the top, but he has proven capable of standing up against Premier League opposition and being the kind of midfield presence that we need.
For starters, he is our best tackling midfielder and our best overall ball-recovery midfielder as well. That’s no small feat for a guy not heavily touted as a defensive option. He’s one of our best creative options (though that isn’t saying much… yet) and he’s one of our best dribblers. Yet he’s also one of our most secure in possession.
Sure, it’s only across 1200 minutes of play, but for being unreliable and injured half the year, he’s still proven much more than some might have done in a similar time span. Do we believe that the glimpses are what he can be more consistently? That’s what you have to ask when considering this move.
