1. He is not a part of Mikel Arteta rebuild

If Alexandre Lacazette was 25 years of age and approaching his prime, Mikel Arteta might very well look to build the entire attack around him. But sadly, he isn’t.

Lacazette will turn 29 in late-May. Arsenal would need to sign him a to long-term contract, which would likely include a hefty pay rise, to keep him at the club beyond one more season, at which point he would be well into his thirties.

Moreover, the Arteta rebuild is not a short-term project. In fact, the team will not be ready to compete for titles and trophies for at least two or three years, even with the significant progress the new head coach has made already. Why keep a player who will be 31/32 and on extremely high wages before the team is even capable of challenging? It makes little sense.

Sadly, like with Aubameyang, Lacazette is unlike to be a part of the Arteta rebuild. Offloading for the highest price possible, therefore, becomes rather sensible.
