2. The grass is greener

Bournemouth have always been a tough nut to crack. Sometimes they are on fire, they can beat anyone, they score goals freely and slay giants. Sometimes they flat-out suck, they can’t muster any kind of consistency and they battle with relegation.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Ryan Fraser had his big year last year—seven goals and 14 assists. It was a better year for Bournemouth, who actually mustered a pretty decent attack. This year has been nothing of the sort, as they are in a relegation battle, but Fraser is still on pace for something like three-ish goals and seven-ish assists.

On a team that is wildly inconsistent, that’s a pretty telling number and it fits in line with all the other production he’s shown over the years when the team was just as inconsistent.

Put Fraser on a club like Arsenal where he might not play as much, but when he does, he’ll be with players of higher quality, and it’s perfectly reasonable to think that he could see those numbers blossom into what we wanted him for in the first place.
