Arsenal: 3 reasons Ryan Fraser still a sensible transfer
By Josh Sippie
1. He’s seasoned
Sure, Arsenal has a ton of wingers. Not a single one of them has more than a season of experience at the Premier League level. At the conclusion of the year, Pepe will have that, but it’s been such a scattered year for him that the year doesn’t feel complete.
Same goes with Gabriel Martinelli. And with Bukayo Saka playing primarily leftback and Reiss Nelson battling injuries, our wingers are incredibly inexperienced.
Sometimes it’s nice to just have a guy on the club that knows how way around the league. Not going to lie, Fraser isn’t that exciting of an addition. He won’t start much. But that’s okay. He has a Premier League presence and he’s capable of surprises. His numbers have set a foundational baseline that we can count on at the Emirates and if he doesn’t deliver, guess what? Refer to point No. 3 on this list.
There’s so much excitement about what we’re going to do this coming transfer window that I understand if you aren’t enthused about Ryan Fraser. I’ll be honest, I’m not really either. But there’s a certain sensibility to it.
