Arsenal need to overhaul their squad and invest heavily in the team. But they have little money to do so. So, here are three Premier League targets who aren’t mentioned enough and could fly under the radar.

Arsenal will need to be smart in their transfer plans this season. They cannot compete with the free-flowing finances of Manchester City or Liverpool. They are still without the windfall of the Champions League. There is lots of ground to make up and plenty of areas to strengthen with limited resources to do so. As such, their summer recruitment must be smart, mistake-free, and sometimes a little under-the-radar.

3. Emi Buendia

Emi Buendia is getting increasing attention as the season progresses, but the 23-year-old has largely been overlooked by his Norwich City midfield mate, Todd Cantwell, likely due to age and nationality — Cantwell is both younger and English. Nevertheless, of the two, Buendia might be the more suitable investment.

The Argentinian is a creative midfielder who can play out wide or in central midfield. He is an excellent passer, skilful dribbler, and possesses enough quickness to dart out of trouble or burst into space when the opportunity arises. He has also been extremely productive this season, though you have to dig below goals and assists to see just how impactful he has been.

Only Kevin de Bruyne, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Riyad Mahrez have created more chances and provided more assists this season. Per 90 minutes, only de Bruyne has created more chances than Buendia, and the Belgian is playing for a team that has scored 43 more goals than Norwich. Equally, only Wilfried Zaha and Adama Traore have completed more successful dribbles in 2019/20, while Buendia produced more than three successful tackles and interceptions per 90, which also ranks highly among midfielders in the top-five leagues. All at 23 and potentially costing less than £20 million, Buendia is a bargain.
