2. Emi Buendia

My colleague Andy has been all aboard the Emi Buendia train, and I suppose it’s time for me to jump on too. There’s no hiding from just how good Emi Buendia is and how he’s managed to do all of what he’s been doing from the unfriendly confines of bottom-feeding Norwich City.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Last year, in the Championship, he put up a massive eight goals and 12 assists. That was when I first noticed him, but seeing him carry on with another seven assists in the Premier League with little attacking cohesion happening with his fellow Canaries.

While Buendia has primarily played on the wings for Norwich, he’s an adept central midfielder and he’s got the full spectrum of talents, from defensive workrate on up to scoring goals and, most importantly, creating chances. On the top ten list, the Gunners, of course, have no one. But Buendia ranks fourth in the league with 73 chances created. That’s a hefty amount, and one that is unheard of at the Emirates.

The big problem is that Buendia just signed a new deal until 2024 and expressed how much he loved it at Norwich, so it would take some convincing.

Next up, No. 1.
