Arsenal: Predicting every summer sale with potential price
Arsenal have a very busy summer transfer window upcoming. Here, I predict every sale the club will make and the price they might expect to recoup.
Arsenal have work to do this summer. It is seemingly said every summer, such is the transfer mire that this club routinely gets itself into, but this year, it is as true as any. And while many will look at an impending squad rebuild and focus on the players coming to the club, oftentimes, it is smart sales for high prices that determine the success of a window.

So, with that in mind, here are my predictions for which Arsenal players will be sold this summer and what fee they will fetch in the market.
Sokratis – £10 million
For all of his faults as a passer, his disastrous stint at right-back, and his increasingly vulnerable defensive work, Sokratis did his job. He was signed as a cheap and experienced option to fill in at centre-back while Arsenal worked on scouring the market for younger successors. With William Saliba set to arrive next summer as that successor, the Greek international just about did enough.
However, he will turn 32 this June and has just one year remaining on his contract. Not only will he not be a part of Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans; this summer is Arsenal’s last chance to recoup some of the £18 million they invested in Sokratis two years ago.
How close they will get to that fee is difficult to surmise. Sokratis’ performances have tailed off this season and clubs are increasingly wary of investing in 30-plus players. He also comes with a £90,000 per week salary. For those reasons, the Gunners may have to accept a cut-price. Anything close to £10 million will be a decent deal.
