Arsenal: 3 European reclamation projects to sign
2. Luka Jovic
Mikel Arteta has been keen to have his centre-forward — usually Alexandre Lacazette — drop into midfield and play with their back to goal, linking up attacking moves and helping to progress the team. It is why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has rarely been used centrally.

But as Lacazette reaches the back end of his prime and could be a sale candidate this summer given the need to offer him a new contract to keep him beyond the next two years, Arsenal might look to both cash-in on the Frenchman and then improve upon on a player who has suffered from inconsistency and a crisis in confidence this season. Enter, Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.
Jovic has not enjoyed many opportunities to play at the Bernabeu since making a £56 million switch last summer, largely sitting behind Karim Benzema, who continues to defy his age, but his performances for Eintracht Frankfurt the season prior prove that he is tremendously talented. And at still 22, Arsenal might believe they can unlock his best form?
Jovic scored 27 goals across the Bundesliga and Europa League last season. His link-up play was renowned, the control and delicate nature of his first-time layoffs and flicks around the corner vital for Frankfurt’s attacking play. If Jovic can get back to that form and if Real really do want to offload for cut-price, he could be a real bargain.
