1. Corentin Tolisso

It is easy to forget, but almost three years ago, Corentin Tolisso broke Bayern Munich’s and the Bundesliga’s transfer record in a €41.5 million move. The Lyon midfielder was wanted by the best teams in world football, and he surprisingly chose Bayern above the many interested in his services.

Tolisso is an all-around midfielder. A terrific passer, skilful and controlled in possession, and defensively astute, having first broke onto the scene at right-back and playing several times as a number six as the base anchor in a midfield three. He is precisely type of player that Arsenal will need this summer. He also is a goal threat. Tolisso notched 14 in all competitions in his final season at Lyon.

Since moving to Bayern, however, he has struggled for game time and fitness. Tolisso has missed 45 games with various injuries, including tearing his cruciate ligament, missing almost the entire 2018/19 season. Bayern are reportedly keen to offload the 25-year-old this summer and could be persuaded into a cheaper deal as a result of his injury history and that he only has two years remaining on his contract.

If that is indeed the case, Arsenal would be wise to make a call or two.
