Arsenal: Do not, under any circumstances, sell Hector Bellerin

Arsenal is now reportedly trying to fend off transfer interest for Hector Bellerin, so they better strap on that battle armor. We can’t lose Bellerin.

Arsenal have a lot to think about for this summer. Mikel Arteta just opened up about all the work he’s putting in to prepare for a few different possibilities for when the end of season finally comes around. These possibilities will be depending on who we can sell, where we finish in that able, what financial help we can expect, etc. etc.

One possibility that should absolutely not be factored into the list is losing Hector Bellerin. The Spanish rightback may have missed a lot of the year due to injury, but he isn’t just vital to the club, he’s vital to ensuring that yet another position doesn’t fall under the “in desperate need category.”

As it stands, the Gunners have central midfield, attacking midfield, centerback and potentially striker sorted in the “in desperate need category.” To add anything else would run the extreme risk of one of two things happening. Either we don’t get to every desperate need, or we get to them unsatisfactorily, and end up with a player that brings with him even more headaches.

Hector Bellerin isn’t just a reliable rightback with elite capabilities, he’s a leader for the team. He donned the captain’s armband for a reason and likely will continue to if Aubameyang is sold in the coming window.

As a leader on the club, Bellern’s value goes up even higher and reaches a point that I don’t think any other club would be willing to pay.

In the current state, our fullback options are set. We don’t need anything else. It’s strong, it’s varied and it’s a point of confidence. Hector Bellerin sharing rightback with Cedric Soares; Kieran Tierney sharing with Sead Kolasinac. That is dynamic across the board. I don’t want to have to think about going out there and spending more precious money on someone like Jonjoe Kenny.

That kind of stress is exactly why we can’t lose Bellerin. Unless someone is willing to pay so much money that we can make a profit even after securing an elite replacement like Achraf Akimi, and even then, it’s more effort on a position that shouldn’t require any.

Mikel Arteta is smart. He knows what Bellerin means to this club and, hopefully, that means that he’s in no hurry to lose him.
