Arsenal: 15 major transfer rumors rated by plausibility and need

11. Luka Jovic—Plausibility 7/10, Need ?/10

I have been in love with this rumor since it first arrived. If Arsenal were to lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and/or Alexandre Lacazette, I want to see the reinvestment be sensible and long-term. Luka Jovic is one such solution and he plays the game the way we need it to be played. He utilizes hold-up play to the same effectiveness as Alexandre Lacazette, he’s got a soft first touch, excellent finishing and he’s ready-made for a Premier League outfit.

The problem with Jovic is that we don’t yet know if we’ll need him or not. Until Arsenal gets their final place at the end of the season, there’s still a good chance that we keep hold of not just Aubameyang, but potentially Lacazette too.

To add to that, if we only end up losing one striker, we could conceivably get by with Eddie Nketiah as the second option, though it’s a bit riskier without seeing how well he finishes the season as well.

So by that standard, the necessity of Luka Jovic would be anywhere between 0 and 10, it just depends on too many factors to put a set value on yet. Speaking of which…
