Arsenal need to supply Mikel Arteta with elite players. Here are three dream signings that would revolutionise the team this summer.

Mikel Arteta needs help. The Arsenal head coach has made progress at the helm over the past few months, but he now needs to be supported with a higher-performing squad that consists of elite-level players who can form a team capable of challenging at the sharp end of the Premier League. And he will be given that support, successfully or unsuccessfully, through the transfer window.

So, with that in mind, here are three dream targets that would entirely revolutionise the team and Arteta’s rebuild.

3. Eduardo Camavinga

The need for an all-encompassing defensive midfielder who can shield the back four, break up play, and then burst forwards with excellent dribbling and passing has been an everpresent one for Arsenal this season. Granit Xhaka is too ill-disciplined and immobile, Matteo Guendouzi lacks the positional awareness, while Lucas Torreira is limited in possession.

Signing this player would utterly overhaul the midfield overnight. Guendouzi can fly around the pitch with reckless abandon, in a positive way, Mesut Ozil or Dani Ceballos are freed up to create, while the entire structure of the team is improved without being restricted and restrained. So just imagine getting all of this in a 17-year-old who the world over wants to sign. That is who Eduardo Camavinga is.

Camavinga has played more than 2,000 minutes in Ligue 1 this season. He maintains an 87.7% pass accuracy rate, attempts an amazing 6.5 tackles per 90 minutes, winning 4.5 of those attempts, 1.4 interceptions per 90, 1.4 blocks per 90, and 1.4 clearances per 90. He is superb defensively and a very good passer. And he is still only 17.
