2. Serge Gnabry

There are very few players in world football playing at the level Serge Gnabry is playing at right now. The Bayern Munich star’s infamous Arsenal exit has been discussed the world over, fans bemoaning the decision to let him leave after he threatened to run down his contract. But he remains in love with the club and would be the ideal signing, although any realistic chance remains essentially impossible.

Nevertheless, he would be perfect for this team: a quick, direct, skilful winger with explosive acceleration and a clinical streak in the final third. He was named Bayern Munich’s Player of the Season last year and has an outrageous 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this year. This season, he has created 2.4 chances per 90 minutes and completed 2.3 dribbles per 90. He very rarely fails to beat an isolated defender in one-on-ones.

In reality, Gnabry will not be joining Arsenal any time soon. Even if he wanted to leave Bayern, which he won’t, the club could never afford him. But in principle, he would be the ideal signing to restructure the attack under Mikel Arteta.
