3, Jovic: Replaces Lacazette
You probably should have seen this coming. As I said on the previous slide, the biggest question we have to ask before we can opt for Jovic or Edouard is who we need to replace. And there is a chance we need to replace both Lacazette and Aubameyang, which would be a massive shift, but one easily coverable with both of these 22-year-olds.

That said, while Edouard replaces Aubameyang, so too could Eddie Nketiah. Nketiah is much more an Aubameyang striker than he is a Lacazette striker. He has even played winger and done pretty decent with it.
We don’t have anyone that is ready to replace Lacazette. So if we do end up selling Lacazette, we can’t just hope that Nketiah can switch his style around and be someone he’s not. Same way we can’t ask the same from Edouard, assuming we sign him.
Jovic is the ideal replacement for Lacazette. There are other options, sure. Patrick Schick, for instance. But the allure of Jovic is more than that of any other potential solution.
On to the No. 2 reason in favor of Edouard.
