2, Edouard: Scores more goals

What more could you want out of a striker than goals? It’s one of the main criticisms of Lacazette—he doesn’t score enough. We constantly have to defend him for what he does outside of scoring goals. And while there is validity in that, if he just scored more goals, we wouldn’t have to defend him at all.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

In an argument between Edouard and Jovic, if you’re determining based on who scores the most goals, it’s no contest. Not even close. Edouard has 60 goals and 31 assists since joining Celtic in 2017.

Luka Jovic doesn’t have that. His first year at Eintracht he scored eight goals and added an assist in 900 minutes of play. His next year was massive—27 goals and six assists in all competitions.

But that’s his resume. Essentially one year. Meanwhile, Edouard is getting better each and every year and his next move will likely announce his presence on an international level since it somehow isn’t quite there yet.

That said, being a striker is more than just goals… right? On to reasons No. 2in favor of Jovic.
