This ties back into who Jovic would be replacing. Because he wouldn’t be replacing Aubameyang. He would be replacing Lacazette. Lacazette, who replaced Olivier Giroud. What do all of the people in question have in common? All three are presence strikers. They take up space in the box, they use close control and physicality to cause all sorts of problems.

But Lacazette hasn’t done the most with that responsibility. Giroud was better at it and I would wager that Jovic will be similar to Giroud. He’s the physical striker we’ve been lacking and the kind that can really tie such an attack together.

Jovic is what a Premier League team needs. He needs to boss around opposing defenses to allow the attack to flow around him and with that in hand, we may well see that we have all the pieces we need around him, we just need one thing to tie it together. Keep in mind what Lacazette does for this attack when he’s in form.

If Jovic can bring that same thing, just more consistently, then we win.
