Arsenal: 3 points in Luka Jovic’s favor, 3 in Odsonne Edouard’s
By Josh Sippie
1, Edouard: He’s exploding
There’s definitely such a thing as jumping on a trend. That’s what Real Madrid did with Luka Jovic. He had one big year and boom, he’s at arguably the best team in the world. But one year is hard to really gauge a player’s potential on.

Three years though? That’s a pretty good barometer. And it’s not even like Edouard is just cruising along, scoring a similar gob of goals every season. No, he’s doing one better. Every year he is increasing his goal output. He started with six goals and two assists in not much time. He followed up with 14 goals and six assists. This year he has 21 goals and 12 assists.
The more Celtic play him, the more he scores. It’s uncanny how nothing can get in his way.
It’s unrealistic to think that he would up his count to like… 30 goals and 21 assists if he makes the leap to Arsenal, but even if he reverts to 14 goals and six assists, that’s more than Lacazette gives us.
This isn’t a trend. It’s not a bandwagon. This is just who Edouard is.
