Arsenal: 3 reasons for and against keeping Alexandre Lacazette

3, Against: We can do better
It’s the harsh reality of it. In the current moment, with Lacazette struggling to amount to the Player of the Year quality he managed last year, we have had a lot of inconsistencies with the attack. Now that’s not all Lacazette’s fault. Some of that comes from having no push from the midfield, some of that comes down to Nicolas Pepe being hit or miss.

But Lacazette has been a nonfactor far too many times this year and that is so unlike him. You can’t even really blame it on acclimating anymore. This is his third year at the club and we still aren’t sure what kind of consistency we can count on.
Meanwhile, we are linked to guys like Odsonne Edouard and Luka Jovic who have me just as excited as I was the first time we were linked with Lacazette. They are younger, blossoming strikers as opposed to Lacazette, who had potentially plateaued, and each one could be an immediate sensation at the Emirates.
It’s time to stop messing around. If the club wants to get better, that means being ruthless enough to replace even the most popular players. Speaking of which, let’s get to reason No. 2 for keeping him.
