Arsenal: 3 reasons for and against keeping Alexandre Lacazette
By Josh Sippie
1, For: We know how good he is
When you see what a player can do, you are always conscious of that peak level when the player struggles. It’s the only thing that has kept me from truly losing my mind about Mesut Ozil. He hasn’t been good for about 80% of the time he’s been here at the Emirates. But having seen what he can do, I am always disproportionately optimistic that he can get back to that form. Somehow, someway.

Lacazette is going down that same road. This has been an awful year for him. He has struggled with consistency and he hasn’t had a lot of joy producing goals. But despite the previous droughts he has gone through, we are all well aware of what Lacazetet can do. He scores thrilling goals, he masters the hold-up role. He does all the things you’d want a striker to do.
The only issue is he doesn’t do it consistently. But even knowing that, isn’t the potential of what he can do still worth holding on to him, even if we have to use him in a composite role? It’s hard to argue against that. No one is going to doubt that he is a quality striker. Is he world-class? No. Elite? Sometimes. But He is definitely good enough to be at this club.
Finally, the No. 1 reason against keeping him.
