Arsenal: 3 reasons for and against keeping Alexandre Lacazette
By Josh Sippie
1, Against: Confidence problems.
No matter how good Lacazette is, and how much we like having him at the club, around the grounds, having fun with Aubameyang… we can’t deny the massive factor that he has some of the worst confidence problems we’ve seen in a striker. Keeping in mind that confidence issues are always a problem with even the most elite strikers.
I thought Olivier Giroud would always take the cake with confidence issues. But then we signed Alexandre Lacazette. Who can go months without scoring goals. In those agonizing weeks of ineptitude, he is slouching, miserable, and just a general downer.
At first, it was a project. I will never forget when Aubameyang passed up on a penalty that would have given him a hat trick in order to get Lacazette off the snide. Lacazette did it and found some pretty good form after that goal.
But that wasn’t the first time he had to be rescued and it probably won’t be the last time. It’s just really hard to support a guy that can’t support himself at times.
