Arsenal: 5 reasons Granit Xhaka should be captain… again
By Josh Sippie
4. He holds himself accountable
This is something I always reference when talking up Granit Xhaka, and I do think it’s one of the few things that fans nearly unanimously give him credit for, as well they should. Being a fan of this esteemed club can oftentimes be frustrating, and one of the biggest points of frustration is not being sure whether or not the players care as much as we the fans do.

Chances are they do, in fact I’m sure they do, but there’s no denying that they sometimes don’t show it. When they lose, or generally disappoint, they go back into the locker room and disappear until the following week.
Except for Granit Xhaka. Xhaka holds himself accountable to the fans. After matches, he is always the first to speak up whether it was a win or a loss. He gets on social media and either accepts responsibility for a disappointing match or cheers his team on after a positive one. But it’s always him. It’s something we have come to expect out of him that few, if any, other players give us.
It’s a big deal, being so conscious of how much the fans mean to the club that he is always on top of keeping them in the loop as far as what happens after matches. It’s captain material, that’s for sure.
No. 3 next.
