Arsenal: Every single reason not to sell Hector Bellerin
By Josh Sippie
1. This year was an anomaly
Okay, so the biggest reason why Bellerin’s value has depreciated so much is because of that massive ACL rupture in January of 2019. It kept him out of 31 Arsenal matches and left us clawing for help at the position. That sucks, but it’s not a norm for him. He’s not an injury-prone guy. If you go back and look at his track record, it’s pretty straightforward.
While he isn’t immune to injuries, he has a few minor ones on either side of the ACL rupture and that’s it. In 2015/16 he missed two matches. He missed nine the following season and nine this season in the recovery phase of his massive injury.
It’s not ideal, sure, but most of his issues revolve around that one big injury. Take that out of the picture and he’s barely missed double-digit matches in nearly five years at the club due to injury. The fact that this year has been different isn’t a sign of things to come, it’s just a fluke. Bellerin will be back healthy again, he may miss the odd match or two because of strains, but he isn’t going to be missing half seasons on a regular basis
Don’t sell him. There are so many reasons why not to sell him and pretty much none in favor of it.
