1. Trust the youth

The Aubameyang and Lacazette situations are very similar, and they could lead to the rather drastic and yet rational decision to sell both and entirely restructure the front three — Pepe, it pertains, would remain in his right-wing role for another season, though his performances will need to improve.

In this instance, it is unlikely that Arsenal could afford two replacements for Lacazette and Aubameyang. They could use the money raised to invest in a winger or a centre-forward, but whichever position they addressed would leave the other open. In this eventuality, Arteta would turn his front three over to the outrageous young talent emerging at the club.

Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah have both impressed this season and could start through the middle with Pepe and a new winger either side of them. Bukayo Saka has been sensational at left-back but is a natural left-winger, allowing Arteta to invest in a striker. Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson offers versatility and depth at both wing positions.

It would be risky, but Arsenal have some of the best kids in world football. Throwing them in the deep end might be the best thing, for both their development and the future of the attack.
