1. Jonathan Tah

Ever since he was first linked to a move to the Emirates, I have been obsessed with Jonathan Tah. Even before, really. When you have someone who has his combination of size, strength, and athleticism, it’s a slam dunk of defensive goodness. You look at Upamecano and he has strength and athleticism, but Tah has the imposing size that would dominate any opposition.

Plus, as I’ve pointed out on numerous occasions, Tah has passed his cupcake phase as an international hotshot and has settled into a reliable, consistent, and dependable centerback with little acclimation or time needed to start making his impact at Arsenal. Again, Upamecano is great, and I don’t doubt his ability, but he’s a recent arrival. He’s only just hit the spotlight. Tah has hit it and watched it pass over him to others.

That’s right when I love to pluck up a player. He stayed at Bayer Leverkusen passed the price gauging days and is now a much more reasonable buy, less than Upamecano but much more proven and not much of a hit in the longevity department either.

You just can’t do better than Tah. He’s the whole package at a reasonable price. Hell, let’s get crazy and grab Tah and Disasi.
