Milan

Arsenal and Milan have been business buddies (and rumor buddies) ever since Ivan Gazidis made the move to the Italian outfit. Suddenly we have a friend in Italy who can ensure that we get a fair shake, and that will give us a fair shake as well.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That’s why it’s time to put Gazidis in a headlock until he gives Ismael Bennacer back.

Bennacer was a youth product under Gazidis’ watch at Arsenal but, when his chance never came, he made the move to Empoli. Arsenal had the chance to buy him back, but passed it up while Gazidis was away at AC Milan and, surprise surprise, rather than coming back to Arsenal, Bennacer went to AC Milan.

From Milan, Bennacer has continued to prove that he is one of the best developing central midfielders around. I don’t say that lightly. Bennacer is the best ball carrier on this list, he’s a defensive stalwart and he is a fierce competitor. He is exactly the kind of midfielder we need, but the problem is he just moved to Milan.

Which is why we need to put Gazidis in a literal headlock. I know a guy. (Sead Kolasinac.)
