SPAL

We need a rightback, right? Apparently, since Hector Bellerin is on the table to be sold, Cedric Soares still has yet to make a debut, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles might as well not exist right now, there are suddenly links galore tying us to potential solutions.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

SPAL have one and his name Gabriel Strefezza.

Strefezza has only just arrived at SPAL this year, but he has settled in almost immediately, starting the majority of their matches and holding down the for on that right hand side. He’s a menace in closing down ball carriers, a proficient tackler, and he gets forward well, contributing a goal, two assists, and a decent supply of chances created.

Basically, he’s your prototypical rightback. The kind that Arteta would want to augment what may be a quickly dwindling crop at the Emirates. His name isn’t going to top anyone’s wishlist, but having that Brazilian connection always perks me up a bit.
