Cagliari

Another team mired in the middle of the Serie A table, Cagliari have one man who I am particularly interested in, and who I was also interested in when he was still at Napoli. That man is Marko Rog, the midfield wrecker who would be like a do-over of Lucas Torreira.

Rog isn’t the big punch in a small package that Torreira is, however. Rog is your traditional bruiser with the effort of a Torreira. He’s a vicious tackler, hounding the ball relentlessly, and when he has possession, he is competent enough to move play forward. He doesn’t always need an outlet, he can take it himself with solid technique on the ball.

That’s essentially what we need in the midfield. While nobody would swoon over a move for Rog, he has the components to be exactly what we need and he’s still young enough to grow into the role and become the player that Napoli always expected him to be.
