Juventus

Don’t say Aaron Ramsey. Don’t say Aaron Ramsey. Don’t say Aaron Ramsey.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey… no wait. I will not take Juventus’s rich crop of world-class talent and piss off my fellow Gooners by asking for Aaron Ramsey back when we’d have to pay for him after losing him for free. Not a chance. But I’ll do the next best thing and choose the guy that’s been keeping Ramsey out of the starting XI.

Rodrigo Bentancur is probably what we were hoping to get when we signed Lucas Torreira. Uruguayan, a Serie A star, and an everything midfielder. He defenders so well, he attacks to well, he carries the ball, moves the ball, and does it all with very little risk and very high reward.

As it stands Betancur leads Juventus in both assists and possession won. He’s the one-stop midfielder that we so desperately need and he has the physicality and frame to withstand the pressures of the English game. Of course, his £40m price tag reflects that, but it would be money well spent.
