Arsenal: 3 ways Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sale can go wrong
By Josh Sippie
2. Replace him
Yup, it is a mistake to sell Aubameyang and then turn around and replace him. And I’ve been saying this for a while. Aubameyang is going to be a straight profit. Nothing raised from selling him should be spent on replacing him because we already have his replacements at the club—Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

The best part is, there are two of them. So even when one struggles, the other can step in, thus further eliminating any potential need to purchase someone else to play the position. Keep in mind I’m counting Aubameyang as a left-winger, which he has been used primarily as. If you want to start talking about strikers, and signing a new striker, that’s a different category and has more to do with what the plan is with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. If you want to sell Lacazette, then we can start debating Odsonne Edouard and Luka Jovic, but until that happens, there’s no need to relate Aubamayenang to them.
Aubameyang’s sale should spark the careers of Martinelli and Saka. They both should already be starting, so getting them into the starting job following Aubameyang’s sale is just an overdue process anyway.
Do not replace Aubameyang. We already have. On to No. 1.
