Arsenal: 3 positive implications of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sale
By Josh Sippie
1. Opportunity for Martinelli/Saka
Of course, we’ve all loved having Aubameyang at the club. He’s thrilling to have on the pitch and he’s always a threat to score a goal. Even when he was shoved out on the left-wing, he flourishes more times than not.
But that has also provided a problem for certain high profile youngsters who need that left-wing position to similarly flourish.
When given the chance, both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been tremendous left-wingers. Truly remarkable. they should be starting every single match, but the one thing in their way is Aubameyang. It’s left Saka at leftback and Martinelli coming off the bench, if at all.
Sell Aubameyang and you’ve got two dynamic youngsters competing for the starting job and you know who wins in that situation? Everyone.
Besides, as I said, both Saka and Martinelli should be starting. I get why they aren’t, because you can’t sit Aubameyang, but these two need to be starting. They are the next big things in the international footballing world, despite what certain rankings suggest, and that all begins with a starting job.
