1. Kai Havertz

Look, I don’t care what anyone says, Kai Havertz is far from impossible. Obviously the main reason people say he is impossible is because of the £90m price tag attached to him. It must be said that it is a very well-deserved price tag, but still high nonetheless. As such, I am not overly optimistic that a deal can be done… but I am optimistic. Why?

Two points for Mesut Ozil. 1. Ozil is an inspiration to Kai Havertz, and Havertz would probably love to deputize for him. 2. When we signed Ozil, he was a similar impossibility… albeit at half the cost, but inflation is a real b-word.

One point for Bernd Leno. Leno made the same move from Leverkusen to Arsenal and can attest to what’s happening here. Same with Tah, honestly. But with Havertz, this young man has to see what an opportunity it is to come play with Ozil and inherent his “throne.”

Plus, if Mikel Arteta really is set on a No. 10, then Havertz would be the cream of the crop. We do have money, and we will raise even more money with sales, so the financial constraint counterpoint also begins to weaken.
