Arsenal’s budgetary situation is a bit of a mess, so here are four free signings that the Gunners could target who would instantly improve the team.

With the current financial restraints at Arsenal which are likely to be hit further by the current COVID-19 situation, we have been told to expect a summer of free transfers and for Mikel Arteta to get creative in the transfer market with swap deals for players where necessary.

Many of the players available for free or swap deals this summer are in the twilight of their careers but can be quality additions even on a short-term basis.

Despite the uncertainty at the club with incoming transfers, many of our squad are considered deadwood and will need to be moved on regardless, so we will need players to build the squad up.

Arsenal can still improve with free and swap deals.

Here are 4 players we should be considering bringing to the Emirates this summer. We start with No. 4.

4. Cengiz Under (swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Such has been the impact of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in Rome that Roma are looking to make his loan move permanent. It’s believed that they have started negotiations with Arsenal in the last few days.

One of the offers being floated about is including Cengiz Under in any potential deal, an offer that, if true, we should be considering without a second thought. We would be getting one of our highest earners off the wage bill and Mkhitaryan is high on the list of players we now consider as deadwood.

In Cengiz Under we would be getting an exciting young winger who at the age of 22 is only likely to improve in the next few years in the right team. He’s a natural right-winger who functions well in a 4-2-3-1 system and he is a threat whether he cuts inside or takes the ball wide. With a lack of natural right-wingers at the club, Cengiz Under would provide perfect competition for Nicholas Pepe and Reiss Nelson.

No. 3 coming up.
