Arsenal doesn’t need to spend a ton of money on another centerback, but another centerback wouldn’t hurt. Here are 3 sensible targets.

Arsenal‘s defense is certainly a point of concern going into next year, with a mass exodus not just expected, but required. There is a very distinct possibility that the Gunners go into next year with a much younger, much more dynamic, and much more built for the future.

But that starts with adding a few more key guys. We’re already young—William Saliba, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Rob Holding, and Calum Chambers are all viable defensive candidates, and factor in David Luiz and Pablo Mari to make it an even six possible defenders, all of whom have started matches at the Premier League level.

So we don’t need to spend a lot on centerbacks this coming transfer window. Because we already did. Saliba cost £27m. That’s a lot of money already. If you think we’re going to drop another £35m+ on another centerback, that’s ridiculous. And it’s unnecessary.

Arsenal doesn’t have to break the bank to find defensive solutions

There are plenty of centerback options we can sign that are under the £25m mark. That’s what we need. If we spend £50m on this defense, we’ve done well. So let’s talk about three defensive solutions that we can get for less than £25m.

3. Evan Ndicka

Honestly, I’m not sure how Evan Ndicka ranks in under £25m, but it’s looking like his transfer fee is going to hover around the £20m, give or take a couple million. That’s a bargain buy if ever there is one, and it also makes him one of the more attractive options out there.

Ndicka is just 20-years-old, he’s got the versatility and the athleticism to play either leftback or centerback. He is tremendous with the ball, hence why he is able to play leftback just as well as centerback, and yet he has the physicality to box out target strikers. He’s not a stranger to scoring and assisting and have I mentioned he’s just 20-years-old?

There is so much to love about Evan Ndicka. It’s crazy we could get him for so cheap.

Next up, No. 2.
