2. Unai Nunez

Unai Nunez is another young La Liga centre-back who has been linked with a north London move in recent weeks.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

He would provide a more physical presence than Torres. As well as his physicality, Nunez is aerially prodigious in both boxes and reads the game well when making interceptions. Unsurprisingly for a La Liga-based defender, he offers a strong range of passing out from the back, something Arsenal’s defenders have struggled with this season. This, of course, would allow Arteta to build his team in a similar style to Manchester City.

Although his preferred position is centre-back, Nunez offers versatility. He can play at right-back and as a defensive midfielder Over the course of a long season, such versatility is invaluable. Just look at Calum Chambers.

Nunez has been third-choice at Bilbao this season but is still only 23. And with a release clause of £30 million, he is far more obtainable, especially in the financially pressured current times.
