Dani Ceballos‘s future at Arsenal is still undecided, but if he is going to stay, here are three things he must improve on to make the stay worthwhile.

When Dani Ceballos first arrived, it was one of those rare transfers that seemed to unite all of the Arsenal faithful. Here was the exact kind of midfielder we needed and the only thing that we were worried about was how we were going to keep him. Because we were all so convinced he was so good that it wasn’t even a question of if he would fit in or not. Of course he would.

Nowadays, things are different. While Ceballos has not settled the way we would have liked, he is still going to cost a small fortune to secure on a permanent basis from Real Madrid. Recent reports have indicated that Ceballos could cost as much as Thomas Partey, and that’s pretty much impossible to justify.

But there is talk of a second loan, and if that is the case, the goal would clearly be to secure him on a long-term basis, otherwise why bother? Ceballos has been wishy-washy about where he wants to spend his future as well, but in the event that he does stay at Arsenal, he needs to improve in these three areas specifically.

3 areas Dani Ceballos must improve if he stays at Arsenal

We start with No. 3.

3. Spark

We’ve seen it like, twice. The first was against Burnley early in the season and it was the opening salvo in what many believed to be an unforgettable season.

It didn’t turn out to be anything like that. Ceballos played plenty of matches where he was as sharp as a balloon. (That’s not a good thing.) Ceballos was brought in to be that creative push from the center of the pitch and that has not been the case in an overwhelming number of cases. He has to find more of a spark if he’s going to stay.

No. 2 is next.
