2. Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Speaking of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Armenian is still on the books at Arsenal. He has been hugely disappointing upon his arrival in north London, rarely suggesting that he is of the quality required for a top-four Premier League team. He was duly loaned out last summer, spending the year at Roma.

Mkhitaryan seemingly wants to remain at Roma. While his agent later denied the claims, Mkhitaryan was reported as saying that he has no interest in returning to Arsenal in the summer. Roma, too, want to keep him, though the two clubs have struggled to agree upon a fee. Arsenal are said to be holding out for as much as £20 million.

If Roma are unwilling to reach that valuation, perhaps another swap deal can be completed. Justin Kluivert was named as a potential target of the Gunners. Maybe Mkhitaryan could be offered as a makeweight to bring the young Roma winger’s price into a more palatable range? It is certainly a possibility that the club could and should explore.
