1. Alexandre Lacazette

No player has been linked with a trade away from north London more than Alexandre Lacazette. The striker lost his starting spot to Eddie Nketiah prior to play being postponed, has underwhelmed this season, and with two years remaining on his contract, could, like Aubameyang, be shipped out.

Lacazette will also turn 29 in the summer. He is not exactly a spring chicken, and given that Arsenal are embarking on a long-term rebuild, if they were able to swap him for a younger option who offers more sustained value over the next five years, that could prove invaluable.

Atletico Madrid seem the most interested party. They had a deal to sign Lacazette before he arrived in north London but missed out on the then-Lyon striker due to a transfer embargo. With Arsenal’s longstanding interest in Thomas Partey, a straight swap between the two seems to make a lot of sense.

Lacazette would not fetch the same price in the market that he might have done in normal circumstances. As a result, if Arteta does not think he is a part of the long-term project, swapping him for a player who will be is the most helpful move.
