3. Moussa Diaby

Another promising young talent, Leverkusen signed Diaby from PSG for £16.5 million this past summer, without the French Champions including a buyback clause for the young winger. Arsenal are reportedly preparing a $25 million deal for Diaby, which, if it goes through, would be a total steal.

The young Frenchman has a one-second-he’s-there, ground-blistering speed that I would call unheralded, if it weren’t for Wolves’ own Adama Traore. Like the Spaniard, his ability to surge past a defender with his first step and leave them in the dust with his second has made him an almost unstoppable threat, but that’s where the comparison ends. While not as powerful as Traore, he is technically better, and does not sacrifice skill for speed, a potent combination, and his crosses are a sight to behold; he rarely misses his target in the box.

The more I’ve seen of him, the more I’m convinced he’s on course to be one of the best wingers in the world, and he’d be an excellent solution for any club. But he’s third simply because Arsenal are currently full-to-the-brim with star potential out wide. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli play off the left, and with Reiss Nelson and Nicolas Pepe on the right, Diaby would have a lot of competition. However, if Arteta commits to Saka’s future as a left-back, and starts playing Martinelli up front in the event that Lacazette and Aubameyang are sold, I would look no farther than the young Frenchman.
