Arsenal: 3 improvements Nicolas Pepe must make
By Josh Sippie
2. Building rapport
Not even a downfall of his game, just something that we have to look forward to. One of the main reasons why players struggle to acclimate to a new outfit is that they don’t know their new teammates. They know of them, as I’m sure Pepe was excited to work with someone like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but having never spent time on the pitch with him, there was no rapport.
The longer that Pepe stays at this club, the better rapport he will build with everyone else on this team. That’s when he can really start to settle in, build his confidence, and be the elite attacker we need him to be. Even if he’s kind of already doing that.
Pepe has looked good enough on his own and even if Aubameyang does leave, if Pepe settles into a place of confidence and becomes the guy that new players have to learn to gel with, he puts himself in a fantastic position to—again—be that elite attacker that he is already veering towards.
On to No. 1.
