1. Can you say Golden Boot?

I don’t want to have a Spursy mentality here, but there is a thrill in having a guy in the Golden Boot race every single year. Not least of all because it’s been years since we’ve had that thrill. Again, for as useful as Lacazette and Giroud both are, they were not the most consistent goal scorers. They were never really in a Golden Boot race.

It’s not since Robin van Persie that the Gunners have had someone competing regularly for this individual, prestigious award, and seeing him win it last year and set himself up to go down to the wire for it this year, has been a major lift to an exasperated fan base.

Losing that, with so much uncertainty to follow, would be more kick to the shins of Gooners. It’s unlikely that we could replicate the individual inspiration that he provides, at least not right away. Although it may lead to more success as a team, that’s also an experiment that would require him leaving first to figure out.

It’s not a fun thing to lose, that’s for sure.
