Arsenal: 3 reasons Kieran Tierney could actually be sold
By Josh Sippie
1. He’s not Arteta’s guy
This is one thing I always fall back on when considering the sale of anything under Mikel Arteta. Mostly because Arteta does not want to make the same mistakes that his predecessor Unai Emery did. Emery tried to build his own team with Arsene Wenger’s guys and that’s just not how it works. And it didn’t work. And Emery got fired.
Arteta wants to build his own team. He wants to have his own players and the sooner he can do that, the sooner his era can well and truly get underway.
Tierney could very well become an Arteta guy. There’s no reason he couldn’t. But it’s the money factor. Arteta is going to want to invest in other parts of the formation—particularly that midfield and attack, and if he can make a little spending money selling a guy that he never bought in the first place, it wouldn’t be the most outlandish thing.
Not saying I’m for it, but I would definitely understand the logic behind it.
