1. He won’t get better chances at Real Madrid

There will always be an allure to teams like Real Madrid. I get that. But so many players have sat on the Madrid bench and wasted away when their talent could have been put to better use elsewhere.

Simply put, Dani Ceballos is not going to go home to a starting job. He didn’t validate his value while on loan in the first year at Arsenal and Real Madrid saw that. They aren’t going to be begging him to come home. If he does go back to Madrid, he goes back having made very little progress towards his goal of being a starter there.

Also, Zinedine Zidane has been incredibly indifferent about Ceballos. After all, Zidane has countless superstars to keep track of, he can’t be worrying about how one of the young’uns is doing off on loan in England.

On surface value alone, it doesn’t look like the way Arteta has managed things with Ceballos. But again, to be fair, Ceballos is here, not with Zidane. But still, it wouldn’t be some great, grand homecoming for Ceballos.
