Arsenal: 3 facts that debunk Hector Bellerin exit talks
By Josh Sippie
1. He wants to be like Arteta
This is why I found the rumors so hilarious. The way they said that Bellerin has to see a progression from Arteta before he committed to the club. And yet, just last month Bellerin spoke about how fortunate he was to have someone like Arteta at the club when Bellerin himself was growing up.
Arteta helped him on the pitch, but he also helped him off the pitch, managing financials, being a good person, doing the right thing, so on and so forth. Arteta was a mentor for Bellerin when Bellerin had arrived on the international stage.
For Bellerin, that’s something he now wants to give back to the next wave of Arsenal youth. He wants to be the role model to them that Arteta was to him.
You can’t do that from anywhere other than at Arsenal. So I have trouble believing that he hasn’t seen all he needs to see to commit to Arsenal for even longer than he already has. End of story.
