Arsenal vs Southampton predicted XI: Third time’s a charm?
By Josh Sippie
Midfield
Speaking of lack of flexibility, the midfield doesn’t allow for much creativity either. And yes, I used the word creativity for a reason. Because there doesn’t seem to be any sign of Mesut Ozil or Lucas Torreira returning to the mix as neither has factored into the return to action.
Ozil least of all.
With Granit Xhaka out, that leaves Matteo Guendouzi and Dani Ceballos free to reign. Honestly, it worked against Brighton despite the end result. Would love to see a bit more out of Ceballos, though.
The third midfielder will likely be Bukayo Saka yet again. Why fix what isn’t broken? Saka has been a tremendous contributor to the team no matter how he is used, and the flavor of the week is to keep him in the midfield.
Moving on to the attack.
