Arsenal vs Southampton predicted XI: Third time’s a charm?
By Josh Sippie
Attack
The one area where Arteta has a good degree of flexibility, and he will likely use it, as he’s been rotating between his attacking options since the resumption of action.
Given that two matches are hard to build a pattern off of, Arteta could do anything, but I would both prefer and predict a return to the starting XI for Eddie Nketiah up top. He was given priority against City and, despite not being at fault for the loss, lost his spot against Brighton. But he never lost the job. So he’ll be back against the Saints.
On the wings, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should see their spots secured. You really can’t bench Aubameyang, even moreso now that Martinelli has been ruled out for quite some time.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Pepe is the main man. I have nothing else to say about him.
As you can see, plenty of resources here to still make sure we win this one. And yes, I said the same before Brighton.
