Full-Backs

5.0. 62% pass completion rate in the first half is far from ideal. Was very poor in possession, especially when playing out from the back. He still does not look composed when receiving the ball and panics when put under pressure. Defensively, he was excellent, however. Shepherded Nathan Redmond well, made several crucial interventions, and was in good position to deal with Southampton switches of play. Still, needs to improve in possession.. RB. Arsenal. HECTOR BELLERIN

MAN OF THE MATCH: Superb from Kieran Tierney. Playing in a very conservative left-back role, he was excellent in possession, much more so than on the opposite flank, composed with the ball at his feet, and consistently in position defensively. He supplied two lovely long-range passes, including releasing Aubameyang early on, linked with up Bukayo Saka well, and was at the heart of the Gunners’ good work playing out from the back.. LB. Arsenal. KIERAN TIERNEY. 7.5
