Fullbacks

A surprising amount to talk about here, given the sudden injury issues with Kieran Tierney and the complete irrelevance of Cedric Soares. Both are doubtful for this one, though Tierney has to be assessed before the match and could still make a start.

But I don’t think he will. Not when we have so many matches in such close proximity. Gotta keep him fresh for the next one and not risk another catastrophic injury.

What we do know is that Hector Bellerin should keep his spot. He’s been consistent as can be, he’s been a great attacker and a great defender with a bit of wiggle room for struggles in between. But overall, he’s been solid.

Opposite him, it’s between Bukayo Saka and Sead Kolasinac. My answer is both. But at leftback, it will be Kolasinac. No reason to knock him out of the rotation when he was so good against Brighton. Stick to the plan, let Kolasinac strut his stuff, and remember that he’s competing pretty closely with Tierney.

Central midfield coming up.
