Arsenal vs Norwich City: 5 key players in homecoming fixture
By Josh Sippie
3. Granit Xhaka
Granit Xhaka has been perfectly adequate since returning from injury. I say adequate because it’s like an average. He’s had great halves and he’s had slightly below-average halves. Which somehow equals out to adequate.
He hasn’t made mistakes leading to anything particularly dastardly, but he also hasn’t provided anything particularly noteworthy.
Some may see that as a good thing, but even when Xhaka is doing nothing more than controlling and distributing possession, he shines as a key man. He establishes dominion in the center of the pitch and holds down the fort.
We haven’t seen that yet since his return, but it feels like we’re building up to it. There is no better time to stand out then against the “worst” team in the Premier League as they struggle to stay alive. We will need to control possession and suck the life out of the canaries. If Xhaka can do that and return to his best, we are in fantastic shape.
On to No. 2.
