Arsenal Vs Wolves: 5 key players to watch – Absolute must-win
1. Nicolas Pepe
Nicolas Pepe, like Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and others, was rested in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Norwich City. Before then, however, he was just starting to show the type of form and impact that Arsenal paid £72 million for. He scored a brilliant goal against Brighton, was impactful against Southampton with his ball-carrying and dribbling, and then had his most involved performance against Sheffield United at the weekend.
Now, however, it is time for the winger to truly prove his worth. As Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford have proved for their respective teams, match-winning attacking players must deliver when the chips are down. And there will be few bigger weeks for Arsenal than this looming one.
Pepe, then, needs to deliver on his ability. Arteta has spoken positively about his natural ability, claiming that the winger is beginning to settle into life at the club. He believes that Pepe will one day be special. But Arsenal need that day to be now.
It is time for Pepe to step into the role that Arsenal signed him to fill. Big games need big players, and few come more talented than Pepe. Can he step up to the plate?
